Breaking news: The Barefoot Contessa in Seattle

Yep, you read that right.  The lovable Ina Garten, otherwise known as the Barefoot Contessa, will be making her first Seattle stage appearance on September 16th at Benaroya Hall.  Garten is the author of several best-selling cookbooks and the beloved host of the Food Network show Barefoot Contessa.

In an interview format, Garten will be answering a pre-determined set of questions with Restaurant Marché’s Greg Atkinson as the facilitator.  Atkinson is a well respected figurehead for his pieces in The Seattle Times’ Pacific Northwest magazine and also built a strong following as the former executive chef of Canlis.

Bonus:  The line-up includes a 30-45 minute question/answer from the audience at the end so get your questions ready.

Probably my favorite of the Barefoot Contessa's books, likely due to my love of France and the cute orange scarf Garten is sporting

How to get tickets:  You can purchase tickets here.  Ticket prices vary from $24-$125.

This event, brought to you by Northwest Associated ArtsNeighborhood Farmers Market Alliance and The Strangerwill surely sell out so get your tickets now.

As part of  launching an official countdown to this event, I may just have to pull a Julie and Julia and make one recipe a day (or realistically, once a week) from Garten’s cookbooks between now and the Barefoot Contessa’s arrival in Seattle.  Up first:  the Croque Monsieur and Elephant Ears.
