In addition to Senso’s Italian pottery and the plasma TV they set up during the World Cup, owner Mario Gelmini has taken the European vibe one step further by affixing a sign to this register indicating he accepts euros.
Gelmini, a native of Italy, returns to his motherland a few times a year, and brings along the euros he accumulates from his shop. The baristas tell me people returning from trips actually do bring in their euros and I am told the rates are equal.
